I have a 1946 J3-65 (N88490), with a C85-12 engine. At some time in the past (I would need to look at my logbooks to figure out when), it was modified with a Maule pneumatic tire tailwheel with the "hook" instead of a real fork. I believe the original tailwheel was a Scott fork and solid tailwheel. Am I wrong? Anyway, if the Scott was the original, where can I get one, with the solid tailwheel and what is the model #? The pneumatic tire does not work well with my "Tailwheel Transporter" which keeps letting go of the tailwheel when I pull it into the hanger, and I don't really care for the "hook."

Also, if I go to the Scott tailwheel assembly, are the leaf springs the same as the Maule tailwheel assembly uses?

Thanks for any assistance
