I would like some input from other board members regarding insuring a Cub. Our situation is this, Our Cub has just been restored and ready for test flight. There are two pilots, One with lots time and recent Cub time 40 some years old. And myself, almost 80,com, ASMEL, Inst, Heli,Still active A&P/ IA.Fly frequently PA 32 301T and PA 24. I have owned 3 taildraggers, Most recently a 200hp Thorp S18.
The Insurance Co. Quoted $700 bucks/yr for the 1st pilot and an additional $700 bucks to add me to the policy.
We estimate that we will probably fly the cub 50 or 60 hours a year.
This seems to me to be way out of line, and just because of my age. BTW if you knew me you as well as most folks do not believe my age!
What say you?+
