I am new to the Cub Forum, and also to the Cub world. I just purchased a 1941 J3 around the middle of February. I got my tail wheel endorsement about a month ago. The Cub has been a very humbling airplane, but I still can't get rid of the smile.

My question is what do you use for a com radio? I have an external antenna, and a new Sporty's 400 portable radio. I can communicate with another plane as long as it is close enough for me to hit it with a rock. I unplugged the intercom, but still using my PTT that is on the stick. I'm in class G airspace in WY, but we have a very busy airport, and makes me nervous not not hearing or being heard by other traffic.

Thanks,
John
