I have a student going for a checkride next week. I am learning more than he is - as an inactive attorney, I can see a whole stack of gotchas staring me in the face. I may develop a checklist for CFIs.
First among the horribles are the four fundamental risk elements coupled with five factors, which the student attacks with about four different "models" and "checklists".
How I made it this far without these essential tools is beyond me. I am going to try for a publishable guide, to make this only slightly more complicated than my law classroom lectures. As of right now, I find it incomprehensible, and I only have a few days to make sure my student knows them backwards and forwards.
Fortunately, he has had a ground instructor who dotes on this stuff.
