Bone Headed Question

My 85 Cont has been running a little rich...I've checked the air filter to make sure it was not clogged, the Carb heat to make sure it was not running partially on with either of those contributing to a little rich mixture. They were ok.

Now for what is probably a bone headed question: if I slightly tighten the idle adjustment, will that have any effect on the high speed mixture?
