I’m just finalising my windshield installation and wondering if the bottom of the windshield should have some foam/felt tape around the bottom where it goes between the two trim strips. I have some thin foam tape for window installation from aircraft spruce that I could use and also some friction tape that I used on the rear D windows.
then the question is if I do use the tap, do I stick it to the inside of the aluminium retainer strips, or to the windshield itself?
the old one was put in with silicon by someone which made it really difficult to remove, so I’m not going to repeat that! I’ve also installed nutplates for the screws.
