Here's one for you. I sometimes leave holes unfilled when those pesky #6 PK screws come out. Boot cowl is a major offender; my 1972 Rivnuts are becoming less effective.

I have been noticing a vibration on climb out. Engine producing plenty of power, good wood prop, I balanced all reciprocating parts, etc - so thinking of cleaning the carb.

But I decided to bite the bullet, cut holes in my interior, and back up the 6-32 screws in my boot cowl with nuts. Looks better. Slightly.

But guess what? Vibration at full power is gone! It was the boot cowl shaking the airplane.
