I know most of you don't have a terrible problem with visibility given the classic yellow, but mine has a red and black paint scheme. I think it looks great and love how the sun melts off the frost as soon as it hits the blacks wings.
As I was flying the pattern near sunset and I had a hard time spotting another red plane in the pattern and ATC had a hard time seeing me on final as we were working on touch and goes (Getting close to soloing ). Got me thinking to what I can do to increase my visibility without adding a battery and lights.
My instructor suggested clipping a bike light or headlamp to a piece of tubing in the cockpit, that would provide at least a little head-on visibility. The new LED's are bright and small so wouldn't add much weight and be completely removable.
Another thought would be having "invasion stripes" or some sort of contrasting decal added to the wings and fuselage.
Any other ideas? (Besides paint it yellow)
