This was sure a nice read, the author tells a good story. Those guys persevered through so many trials. Several hundred glider flights of short duration to gain knowledge of flight and proficiency. They made a wind tunnel and tested airfoil shapes made from hacksaw blades. America wasn't too interested early on so Wilbur took the flyer to France where He received a resounding welcome. Wilbur was a genius and died in his 40's...Orville had a terrible crash at Ft Meyer but recovered and lived to his seventies long enough to see what WWII bombers could do. I don't know if he saw the H bomb but said of the planes....it like fire, useful and incendiary... I paraphrase. I'm sure there were others, but they did the homework and taught the others about 3 axis controlled flight.
