In the past I have installed this seal so that it looked like the pressured oil would tend to squeeze the seal lip down tighter on the shaft. In reading the books they state : " make sure that the oil seal is installed in the __ housing with the lip outward". Open to misinterpretation ? With the seal installed with the rubber portion most outward in its housing, its lip points inward. Or, it could be interpreted to install the seal with the seal lip pointing outward. There is a tiny section drawing in the book but it could also be seen incorrectly. Expert comments please.
