Hello:

I am based in Santiago de Chile South America and starting my first Piper Cub J3 Project, and actually my first project of any airplane!. I am really happy since I have been dreaming with a Piper Cub since little boy ( A long time ago…). This is a really nice project the plane was found in a Barn. I have the original Identification Plate and this plane was made the 11/15/1945 with a A65-8 Engine. Was sent directly to San Antonio Port in Chile and arrived in the middle of 1946 to the Club Aereo de Concepción(Flying Club of Concepción) where it was a trainer of many pilots, then was sold to the Club Aero de Rancagua (Flying Club of Rancagua) and also help train many pilots for many years. After some time in this club it had an accident in the north of Chile and was left for many years in the Streep (but inside a Hangar, good since the north of chile is a dessert and non corrosion), sadly many parts where took from the plane and the DGAC (FAA for Chile) remove their Aircraft ID and the remainings where store in a Barn. The Serial Number of this plane is 14741 and is recorded en #1 Book of Airplanes of the DGAC here in Chile!. So I have the entire history and every detail of this plane. The Wings where adquiere form another plane from USA.

Wish me look in this project! And attached you will find some pictures of what I have right now. By the way thank you very much to everyone in this forum for your comments since has been of great help to start getting parts and specially getting knowledge.

I will continue to record my progress and of course asking for advice!!!!
