I have thousands of hours behind Case and Slick mags. Never had a problem. I am currently running Bendix S4s, but that's beside the point.

Neighbor just got a pair of Slicks overhauled - nice and shiny. Continental A-65-8. He reported a mag drop this morning.

We isolated it to a "cold" cylinder, and changed the plug, to no avail. I do not own a sparkplug wire tester, although that would be my next step. Wires look new, but not sure.

My question: is there a failure mode inside the Slick that could lead to poor performance on one cylinder? Something like, say, a carbon track that causes intermittent stumbling?
