Has anyone installed a SIRS Aviation Ltd. "Navigator" windshield-mount magnetic compass in a J-3 or PA-11? If so, where, and what results?

From what I've read and viewed online, it works well in PA-18's. But my concern is the proximity of the cabin truss tubes where they meet at the front spar attach fitting on the J-3 and PA-11. I'm considering a windshield-mount compass for my experimental PA-11 primarily due to a comm transceiver, mode-C transponder, Westach quad gauge, and other electric sources of magnetic fields in my panel that can render a panel-mount or glareshield-mount unreliable.

Thanks.
