Hi all...we are trying to find a specific cub...we know relatively little about it, here is what we know***it was a j-3 65 hp, owned by Myrle Sweeny somewhere around 1951, at the time it was kept in Finleyville, PA. Myrle died tragically in 1954, leaving 2 sons and his wife. One of his sons is a pilot, flying a piper cherokee 180. He has been looking for information on this airplane for 40 years. one of the few surviving pictures of Myrle is with his two sons on the strut of his j-3 cub. we have no pictures or documents to give us any clue as to the tail number at the time.

if anyone out there has any information, perhaps old log books on their j-3 mentioning finleyville or Myrle, that could give us some indication as to what happened to that plane, perhaps just to know that it is still flying, it would mean more than you can imagine.

this is really a long shot, but what the heck. Thanks in advance for taking the time to look around in your old paperwork.

John Sweeny (Myrle's nephew)
