Hello all,
I'm new to this site as well as new to tearing down a '41 J3F65. I'll be rebuilding it with new Dakota Cub all metal wings so I'm concentrating on slowly tearing down the fuselage. But having a time getting the boot cowl off. I've got the engine, firewall forward removed, the windshield and all screws removed from the cowl. The problem is getting the cowl off with the gas tank still secured. I read somewhere that to remove the gas tank it is best to remove the boot cowl first. The tank filler neck is in the way. Anyway, does anyone have some suggestions? Have folks removed the tank with the cowl on?
Thanks,
Jim
