Gents;

Ignoring the details, on 27 August, while my 14-year old daughter and I were returning from a short flight for dinner, I had to put my early model J-5A into a field after losing engine power. Pilot and passenger were okay, but the an otherwise beautiful forced-landing was ruined by 30" tall thick grass. The grass pulled the plane out of the sky right quick, and the resulting hard landing on the left gear did a job on the lower fuselage tubing under the cabin, destroyed the left bungee strut, and bunged up the lower cowl around the air filter box. Now my question...

Anyone know of somebody that has, and would be willing to part with, an early model J-5A lower cowl, or somebody that could make one, and where I might get a replacement bungee strut. The later is not the same size as that on a J-3 and the PA-12, with the the internal bungee won't work either.

Any help would be most assuredly appreciated. The bird is already being repaired, but I am a bit short of two key parts :)
