Pages 73 & 74 of Pete Bowers' book Piper Cubs makes reference to a variant of the J-3 that Piper's Canadian subsidiary produced that incorporated a couple of modifications for Canadian bush use. Namely rear seat was made removable and the baggage compartment was enlarged. Also added was a nine gallon aux tank at rear of cabin, but I'm not really interested in that.
