I am considering a possible Legend Cub purchase. What are the issues if the manufacturer closes down during the inevitable shakeout? My main concerns are parts, support and maintenance and the associated legal certification aspects. For instance, if I want to add an external baggage door I have to get the approval of the factory, if I bend a non-standard wing rib I have to get it from the factory. What happens if the factory closes? With the Legend the problems would be minimal since most parts are standard Cub parts. People with the plastic european rotax planes would seem to be in a riskier position.
