When the engine builder installed the engine , C85-12, PA-11, he goofed up one of the exhaust gaskets on #3 cylinder. As he was installing the exhaust manifold, one of the 2 gaskets fell partially out so only 1 mounting hole was on the stud an the gasket was rotated about 60 degrees and partially blocking the exhaust port. Manifold/stack.

I was able to lower the exhaust but even with the nuts off, I cannot lower the exhaust manifold enough to get the manifold to clear the studs to replace the gasket. I was able to cut the damaged gasket blocking the port and remove it, but I cannot install a replacement gasket.

It looks like the intake manifold on cylinder #1 is keeping the exgaust manifold from dropping the additional 1/8 inch. I am reluctant to drop the intake elbows in that I may then have to replace the intake port gaskets as well as all the rubber tubes on intake system as the are at least 10 years old.

Any suggestions on how to lower the exhaust manifold/stack that last 1/4 inch?
