We believe that one of our members "Court" is missing.

This posting was from "RagWing" Brian Thompson...
All,
Court Mumford left his home to go flying Saturday AM at 5:30. I recieved a call from Janice, his wife at noon Sunday. Court has not returned. He left no sort of flight plan to my knowledge. Court is based at Aurora Airport, a few miles south of Portland OR. His Sport Cub is N222TB. Local authorities have begun a search.

And this from the Oregonian:
Search is on for missing aircraft

A missing single-engine Piper Cub airplane that took off from the Aurora State Airport south of Portland on Saturday became the subject of a search on Sunday.

Authorities were not releasing the name of the missing pilot.

"He's a retired airline pilot, so he's not a novice at all," said Lt. Col. Thomas Traver, public affairs officer for the Oregon Civil Air Patrol.

Traver said a search began at 10 a.m. Sunday for the aircraft at the family's request. The pilot is from Portland and had been practicing touch and go landings in the area. No cell phone or other radio signals have been located from the plane.

The air patrol will coordinate the search with three airplanes from its command center located at the airport, Traver said.

Anyone who may have seen or heard a single-engine aircraft flying low or sounding like it might be in distress is urged to call the Civil Air Patrol mission base at the Aurora State Airport at 503-678-1889.

The Oregon Civil Air Patrol is the lead agency on this search under assignment by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and the Oregon Emergency Management.
