We found a serviceable left wing that is being restored. I cannot find a source for the following three parts:

Item Part No. Description
63 15662-00 Reinforcement – wing leading edge cover, inboard
64 15672-00 Reinforcement – wing leading edge cover, center
65 15682-00 Reinforcement – wing leading edge cover, outboard

I tried Univair, Preferred Air Parts, and Dakota Cubs. None of them has these part numbers. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I know what you are looking for - and I'd say you don't need them. The strips served two purposes, one to keep the ribs straight until you could get screws in the leading edge and two to provide a little strength under the very thin leading edge material Piper used.

Use rib stitch cord with a single turn around the nose of each riband tied off to structure at each end to straighten each rib. New leading edge material from Univair, brand "W" or homemade will/can be a heavier gauge material than Piper used so stronger.

Most of the time it was thrown away at the first re-build.
