Folks,
In my continuing quest to build a competition class 1/4 J3, I am a wee bit stuck at the moment. The kit I am building from has the ailerons completely wrong from a scale appearance and functionality standpoint. They are, however, perfect for sport flying as I imagine most of the kits are built for.

I know I will need to slant the trailing edge of the aileron bay down and forward so I need to know how much? I know the lower edge is forward of the upper but by how much? What I am also struggling with are the hinges. I need to know what they look like and how they are connected to the aileron and the wing. I have some pictures that I took at Cavanaugh Flight Museum but while it helps, that wing is obviously covered. So if anyone has pictures from a recent recover job or a restoration or even a good set of detailed drawing that they could loan me or send me I would be very grateful!

Thanks,
Doug

P.S.
I am still looking to photograph a J3 in the DFW area to be my subject aircraft. Unfortunately, Will and I have not been able to hook up. If anyone else can help me out please drop me a note.
