Good afternoon ya’ll,
I’m the caretaker for N30168, a 1944 L-4H that spent time in the MA air guard, then to Boston CAP until entering civilian hands in 1956 as a J-3C. Most recently, she was purchased as a project from John Shue (of Waco fame) and restored to near factory specs by Jerry Brown; also well known in Waco circles and among the VAA. He finished her in 2015-2016 and I’ve owned her now for a little over a year.
I’ve been enamored with the J-3 since I saw one on the cover of Flying as a kid years ago, and was lucky enough to find this one for sale right down the road. She’s been a great airplane and I hope to be her steward for the next several decades.
