Hi Everybody! My name is Bill Lenches and I am the Curator of the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum in Abilene, Texas. We are a teaching museum dedicated to the study of World War II and its impact on the American people.

We teach about all aspects of life in a World War II Armored Division, including the critical role played by the Spotter Pilots of our Field Artillery Air Sections.

To make a long story short: We are building a Piper L-4 replica from the LMA (Wood) Plans to be used as a non-flying museum display. We are looking for all of the parts we can't build locally! Stuff like instruments, wheels & tires and all of the visible engine parts.

The problem that I keep running into is that even non-airworthy parts sell for a pretty penny! Does anybody know where I should look to get some non-airworthy parts donated (or purchase them)? We are a 501(c)3 non-profit so donations (or discounts) would be fully tax-deductible.

Feel free to check us out at www.12tharmoredmuseum.com

I have built a few airplanes in my time (mostly wood ultralights).

Thanks for your time!

Bill
