Getting ready to install 4 new Superior Millenium cylinders soon. The 2 compression piston rings have the same number and marking on the ring "TOP". I assume that mean the "top" ring goes onto the piston with the "top" facing towards the the cylinder head? However the bottom of each of the two compression rings have a beveled edge. If installed with 'top' stamped on the ring towards the cylinder head, the bevel is facing down.

I've seen rings with bevels on them but most always these go with bevel facing the top - towards the cylinder head. Can understand why the bevel facing up would make sense. As the pressure inside builds up on compression stroke that bevel acts to force the ring to push the ring with more pressure to the cylinder wall.

So, which way is it?
