Usually / historically and by AC43.13 -1B, when swinging a compass the instrument face is assumed to be vertical. Conventional gear tail is raised, or the instrument is temporarily mounted vertical for the correction measuring. With a J3 , the compass face is vertical when the tail is on the ground and is tilted forward in cruise flight. Anyone have experience how much difference the angle change ( approx. 13 degrees) between three point and cruise makes ?
