Lubing joints and hinges

On my list of maintenance for classic pipers, there’s instructions to lube many joints with engine oil. 75 years later, we have better products.

Anyone use LPS-2 for gear connections, control surface hinges? Seems like it would provide good lubrication, prevent corrosion, and stick around better that engine oil.
