Looking for a Tailwheel DPE for PPL Checkride.

Hello,
Found the forum about a year ago when my brother and I bought a Piper PA-16. We originally looked for a J3 but end up with a Clipper. So far we have done all our primary training in the clipper. We have flown it on wheels and skis and have over 100 hours each in the airplane. It is a very fun little airplane!So it is well past time for us to take our PPL check rides. Currently we have been finding it very difficult to find a DPE who is comfortable in a tail wheel aircraft like the Clipper. The second issue is the fact that our aircraft is not equipped with a artificial horizon. We have been using a Garmin Aera 500 GPS and Ipad with ForeFlight for straight line navigation and reverence to instruments. Currently the aircraft has a VSI, Altimeter, Airspeed, Turn and bank coordinator, Magnetic compass and transponder. We have reviewed the FAA position on hand held GPS for PPL check rides and believe it is possible to take a check ride with one.
So the question is do you guys have any recommendations on a DPE who is comfortable for a check ride in a tail wheel airplane without an artificial horizon? Also do you know of a DPE who happens to have a tail wheel airplane that will conducts check rides in it? We are located in upstate NY and are willing to travel.Thank You
