Keep watching eBay. They come up every so often. However, as it was pointed out to me when I was looking for some shock struts, why trust your baby to used gear parts? I hadn't thought of it before but it made perfect sense. There's no reason to. Buy new and buy peace of mind.

Ann,

As others have said, Welcome to J3-Cub.com!

I'm probably the one who beat Paul over the head about NOT buying used landing gear. My point is/was there is no satisfactory way to inspect the tube integrity of the landing gear (and the lower portions of the shock struts, for that matter). There is no good way to determine the age/condition of used landing gear parts and if you install a used gear leg that has internal rust/corrosion that you can not see, you run the risk of having it fail and possibly doing extensive damage to your plane.

Just buy new and have piece of mind. It's cheap insurance! ;)
