Looking for a Taylor Cub J-2 gascolator, cabane vee and original altimeter, also trying to find a Poorman heater listed as original equipment on weight and balance for this plane.

Hi flyined,

The J-2 gascolator is a Tillotson Fil-trap. It's a pretty common Tillotson fuel sediment bowl. I've attached a couple of pics of the gascolator set-up on a J-2. All the parts and bits shown are precisely the same as supplied by Taylor Aircraft from the factory. The tabs on the shut-off valve are simply bent over and pinned to the fuel shut-off shaft. These Tillotson fuel bowls come up on Ebay regularly. Several tractors also use the same fuel bowl. Old car suppliers would also be a good place to look.

The altimeters are also fairly common. They are a US Gauge altimeter with a six o'clock set knob.

I don't have any leads on the cabane or the heater...

Dan
