Hi all,

I am about to start covering the interior of my 1946 J-3. I have all the relevant drawings and all the amazing Clyde Smith articles in the Cub Clues on the subject, but I am missing one piece of info.

The original drawing shows a straight line from the upper vertical u-channel above the baggage compartment to the high u-channel that holds the ceiling window rear edge. But that would produce side edges that "hang" in the air. I guess the ceiling cover is attached to the sloping tubes up to the tube above your head in the rear seat. But then what? Does it go straight up for 2" and then forward along the top birdcage u-channels?

I have attached a photo that shows what I mean. Does the cover follow the red line? In that case, what supports it during those 2" and in the green circle? Is that an unsupported corner?

I know that very old Cubs had a different (cathedral?) interior.

Thanks in advance,

Magnus
