Dear Mr. Bear, :D

E-bay, Barnstormers and the internet and particularly fly-in "fly markets" are your best friends. You may also try contacting Keystone Instruments to see if they happen to have any for sale.

The altimeters are the same, just different colored faces, but the originals are non-sensetive. A lot of people are substituting later sensetive altimeters painted similarly to original.

Any postwar tachometer you buy you will probably want to overhaul. The proper Stewart Warner tachs were used in numerous Pipers and Luscombs. They are reversable (CW or CCW) and the face can be marked as appropriate.

You will have the hardest time finding the pre-war oil temp and oil press. The oil temps are normally found with the bourdon tube broken.

I have had good luck with Keystone Instruments overhauling and re-facing Cub instruments for nearly 20 years. They are a approved instrument repair shop and provide yellow tags with their work. They are intimately familiar with all the Cub instruments.

Good luck in your search!

John, Thank you very much for your thoughtful and helpful reply. It looks like eBay rules these days and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I've used it a little with mixed results. Cheers! Paddington.
