The fuselage wood and tubing appear to be in decent condition. I'll know more once I get the whole thing sand or media blasted. Any recommendation on sand blasting versus media blasting for the fuselage bones?????

The most aparent wear and tear and damage is with the small u shaped channels that make up so much of the bird cage, and to which the boot cowl screws. This stuff seems pretty flimsy to me. Should I be looking at a heavier gauge material??? I suppose that these assemblies have been vibratinf for several thousand hours, and will over time just not hold up. Any thoughts on these little u channel structures and better ways of replacing them would be appreciated. I'll have lots more questions.
