I just bought a new Mitchell Cub face tach, same as the one that went bad. This one jerks the needle about 600 RPM and vibrates. I isolated the problem to the turn in the cable housing at the tach. It has the elbow positioned there at 90 degrees but there is still to much of an angle due to the fuel tank being there.
My only alternative seems to be to cut a larger hole and move the tach over to the left a couple of inches. Then my panel would look bad. I could replace the cable housing since maybe it has been worn from the past 12 years but that does not seem right.
Looking for advice.
Thanks,
Glenn
