Has anyone used a Univair J-3 airframe lately?

I am trying to install my old front seat in my Univair airframe and discovered a problem with the strap attach points.

The factory airframe has a place to attach the two metal straps that come off the front seat frame. Here is the picture looking aft.

Here is what the Univair frame looks like.

They went to a lot of trouble to put that pass through fitting in there but I'm not sure what its for.

Its going to be tough to get holes drilled with that little bit of metal to work with. I had a few other "differences" with the Univair airframe that I was able to work around. On the other hand the workmanship and primer coat on it was top notch.
