now that i have an aircraft with a transponder for the first time ever, thought i'd try some flight following yesterday for the first time in many years. i know - groundbreaking stuff!

ground controller asked me what my type was. i didn't know nor did i know what he was asking for. thought back to my rental days when filling out the vfr flight plan with the navigation equipment code, but that was wrong of course. it all made sense when i asked him what the designation would be for a cessna 172, and he said c172 as he was thinking "why do i have to deal with people like this".

so anyone know where i can find this list to look up the code for my aircraft so the guy can put my type into the computer in the tower the next time i use flight following should i decide to go that route ever again???
