I have started to strip my fuselage for restoration and I am at the point where I need to remove the engine. Clyde Smith recommends removing it from the mount at the firewall. All cables, hoses, wires etc have been removed and the engine is ready to come off. The nuts are off at the mount but there is no free play at all between the mount and the firewall bolts. Do I need to tap the bolts back to free the mount from the frame? Is there enough room to tap the two upper bolts without interfering with the fuel tank? The lower left hand bolt is under the floor board and should go back but the lower right hand bolt head is obstructed by the floor board and cannot be tapped back.

Any advice on getting the engine off would be greatly appreciated.

Jack
