The March 07 issue of EAA Sport Magazine has an interesting article on the Legend Cub. It compares the performance between the Continental o-200-A66B,100 hp, 4-banger vs the Jabiru 3300, 120hp, 6-banger. With a cruise prop (Sensenich 2-blade, wood, 68"x38" prop), here are the results:

Continental: Top speed: 99, cruise: 90, stall: 34, Climb (Vh):500 fpm, descent (Vg): 460 fpm
Jabiru:Top speed: 118, cruise: 95, stall: 34, Climb (Vh):700 fpm, descent (Vg): 520 fpm

The Jabiru equipped plane also has a lower instrument panel and upper cowl which translates into a better forward and downward view. The Jabiru weighs 178 lb vs the 210 from the Continental. TBO for Jabiru is 2000h vs the 1800h from Continental.

On personal level, having flown in the Jabiru right after the Continental, I thought the difference was very noticeable. As soon as you push the throttle forward, the Jabiru Legend moves with much more authority. It also got airborne quicker.

Anyway, the article is a good read.
