I received a replacement C85 stroked engine but it is missing the crankshaft cap. Today I purchase one at Merrill

Field and now am wondering how to install it. Looking for suggestions. The cap looks like a freeze plug but thicker, and is bowed out. I'm also wondering about sealing it and if any treatment should coat the inside of the cavity it covers.
Thanks
