I'm thinking to recover/upgrade my 1940 (Reed) Clipped Wing Cub once I finish the stock cub I'm doing now.

My vision for it is to have at least a C-85 stroker, C-90 or an O-200, 8gal aux tank (because I already have a NOS one), maybe a PA-11 style cowl, maybe balanced elevators.

It has a standard airworthiness certificate.

Can anyone weigh in on the legality of an O-200, C-90 or C-85 stroker on a Clipped Cub? How's about aux tank? Full cowl? Balanced tail? Any gross weight increases available via STC?

I know the Reed conversion on the type cert is restrictive. I've heard field approvals are hard to get done these days... Just trying to see what I can do and still keeps a standard airworthiness cert.

Thanks!
