Is there any advice about how to inspect and test expander tubes (Hayes type) prior to assembly into the brake unit?

I have a few old-stock, and am looking for ideas about how to trial inflate them. I want to avoid leaks onto my clean brake pads!

The aircraft is on restoration, so I'd rather not fill the foot motors/master cylinders at this stage, and the whole system is dismantled.

Many thanks indeed
