When you are in the rear seat solo, how do you reach the cabin heat? Is the cabin heat effective in the rear?

When the sun is shining here in the winter it means it's cold up there. I wear my LJs, but the instructor is in the front seat controlling the cabin heat and I am getting the breeze through the crack in the window that won't close completely!

Most of the time my instructor is working me so hard that I am sweating and hot anyway! But some day I will be solo and I am curious how every one else copes with not being able to reach the panel.
