I'm reading Doolittle's autobiography right now and the details of the crews training for the short take off roll required for carrier takeoffs with the B-25 is fascinating. They trained in Florida and they practiced to the point where they could do heavy loaded take offs on LAND (not a fast, moving carrier deck) in around 300ft!!
As a matter of fact, there's a [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BJudDErWp0]documentary[/ame] that mentions that they got so good that they did 287ft.
To keep this in the spirit of staying on topic, what kind of takeoff distances are you guys seeing in your Cubs? ;D
