Airbox downpipe

Hey guys, the Down pipe on my airbox broke off the other day. I have a friend that has an airbox that was possibly off his old c85 pa-11. The downpipe on the box I have was longer and shaved off at a 45 degree angle. The one he has is only about an inch long and cut off flat. Any info on whether or not this makes a difference? A new one runs 334$
