Since I bought my airplane I have been fixing little annoyances as time allows. Today I am looking at the air filter. It is held on with 3 original style screws. 2 on the bottom and one on top. The top screw is threaded into a tinnerman plate so the threads are just about ruined and it looks like the other 2 screws have taken turns in that hole. The bottom screws thread into what appears to be a 1/8” steel strip with threaded holes spot welded to the air box. There is no evidence there was ever a steel strip across the top. I made a strip for the top yesterday but am unsure of how I want to attach it so I thought I would see what the consensus is. Any thoughts?
