A65 oil screen leak

I’m having trouble getting my oil screen to not leak. I clean well, put the split in the crush ring against the block and tighten real well. I think I could be over tightening? I cleaned up the mess a week ago, came back to run and check for leaks and it already had been dripping. Same on the drain plug. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you
