Fellow Cubbers, I am blessed with a friend named Gino Dinucci from Clearwater FL and Bayport NY. Gino has been recognized before as the man who completed a dying friend's J-3 Cub in time for the friend to see it fly before passing from cancer. Before that, though, Gino was on a trip to Slovakia when he stumbled upon a memorial to a USAAF crewmember in a little village. Intrigued, he returned to the U.S. and worked a lot of hours in archives to find the man's squadron, the name painted on his aircraft, and the surviving crew. In 2000, he arranged a reunion trip to Slovakia for the survivors who were able to travel. This web site and documentary are the eventual result ... it's worth the time you take to look it over and pass it on ... there aren't many of these guys from WWII left:

There aren't many like Gino, either ... he retires at the end of the month from American Airlines (a former TWA guy) and, hopefully, will continue to work his magic with steel tube, dope and fabric for a long time to come.
