The memories are vivid! It's late fall, 1973. I'm driving home from school (rural community) and, suddenly, a dark shadow engulfs my car. I look up to see the left wing of a small plane, practically sitting atop of my car. I smile. It's my fiancee. He escorts me home and I step out of my car. I watch in amazement, as he performs loops in the air. He then climbs, and climbs, straight up in the sky. Suddenly, the engine cuts out. I hear nothing. I watch the plane tip over into a spiraling decent. Oh my Lord! Putt, putt, putt-putt-putt, the engine, finally, comes to life. I was certain, I was having a heart attack at age 17. The plane arcs toward my house, only a few yards overhead. I see him, through the open window of the Cub. He has a look of sheer joy on his face. He hollers out, "I love you"! I shake my head, as he wing-waves and disappears on the horizon.

1946 PIPER J3 CUB C65 $32,500 IT'S GOTTA GO! Was my late husband "BABY". He had plans to restore her, at the time of his death. His vision to "have her soaring, once again", is now reality (my tribute, if you will). She's the REAL deal, with original log books. 3268 TTAF, apprx 3.0 TSMOH, slick model 4333 magnetos, metal spars, external antenna for hand-held radio, completely recovered with Stitts, qualifies for LSA. Recently test flown by Joe Morales, Aircraft Maint Specialist with the U.S. Air Force Academy 303-898-1030 says, "she's a sweet flying machine". Fresh annual with sell. Price reduced from $36,000 - serious inquiries only. Contact Donnetta Guthrie, Owner - located Calhan, CO USA Telephone: 719-683-4020 (I will attempt to set up an album with more photos.)

It's time to pass the baton to someone who will cherish the moments spent flying her, as much as my husband did.
