My wife has owned this Cub since 2/9/1989. It has been hangered every day since she acquired it.
Our children are grown and out of the house so we are in the process simplifying our lives. Selling her precious Cub is on the agenda.
On 10/27/2011 This engine A 65-8 was disassembled, inspected and reassembled with the recommended replacement parts, all internal components were cleaned, inspected and reconditioned. New bearings, seals & gaskets were replaced. The crankcase was surfaced and line bores, the crankshaft was inspected, corrosion was removed, and the prop shaft was cad plated, a new key was installed in the taper flange.
The cylinders were reconditioned, with correct rings installed. The engine was test run for one hour. The oil was drained and the engine was returned to Hurns Aircraft. The carburetor was sent out (Mikes Metering) for overhaul and reseal. The mags were sent out for bench testing, and were installed, (not overhauled.)
This engine ran perfect on test cell. Please fill with Aero-Shell 100 50 wt. detergent oil before start up.

The plane has not been flown since the new engine was re-installed. It has been hangered at Hurn’s Aircraft at Dallas Executive Airport since October of 2011.
10/23/2020 Cub just completed extensive replacement of parts and components for this year’s annual inspection. Engine TT 1,443.5 SMOH zero hours. She is ready to fly!

5. Parts Installed in 2020:
a. New Tail wheel
b Air box assembly and Brackett air filter
c. Fuel supply tube
d. Motor mount bushings and bolts.
e. Gascolater cover, screen and gaskets
f. Landing gear shock cords and struts
g. Left main tire
h. Replaced brake hoses and diaphragms
i. Replaced Fuel valve selector cable
j. Replaced plexiglass roof
k. Replaced all wheel bearings
l. Varnished Sensenich wooden prop
m. Installed new wet compass
n. Overhauled Kollsman Altimeter
