Hi All
I have had my landing gear fail LHS long shock strut snapped on landing luckily minimal damage. I am sourcing a replacement and have had issues getting the correct answers and believe the wealth of knowledge on this site that someone will have the answer, thanks in advance.

Question: Are the long & short shock struts for ships <= 8277 same length as ships >= 8278 bolt hole to bolt hole?

The reason I ask is it appears I have a mix of landing gear components e.g. I believe I have the heavier weight landing gear assy with the lighter weight earlier cabane vee, lighter weight earlier long & short shock struts, both long shock struts have been drilled to accommodate the 3/8 bolt onto the landing gear assy. So I initially ordered the replacement long strut U31382-000 due to the shock strut bolt size, when it arrived and went to install with the original short shock strut the setup ends up being approx 1 inch shorter than the RHS. So it appears I have the light weight earlier shock struts adapted to fit the heavier landing gear assy as noted above.

Since I now have the new long shock strut and live in Australia making returns expensive and that I would prefer not to procure the light weight shock struts and have to drill them I was thinking I could procure one more long shock strut and two short shock struts and be well on my way to having the heavier landing gear arrangement, but I am concerned that they may not be the same length from my findings above once installed with my cabane vee being original (yes I would require a bushing). To add to the mix there are also three cabane vee options for different ship serial numbers I confident mine has the original for the ship.

Hence my question…….if all else fails I can order the heavier weight cabane vee with the heavier shock struts which is what I will most likely do if I can’t get a definitive answer cheers.
